Abstract

The management of user consent in the context of big data is a critical area of concern, given the growing importance of personal data in both private and public sectors. Effective consent management frameworks are crucial in ensuring user autonomy, privacy, and data protection in large-scale data-driven systems. This paper explores the key techniques employed for managing user consent, the challenges faced in their implementation, and the emerging future directions that could transform consent management in big data environments. Through an in-depth review of existing methods, this paper highlights the need for transparency, regulatory compliance, and user-centric models to ensure ethical data use. The paper also identifies the role of emerging technologies such as blockchain and machine learning in enhancing consent management mechanisms and proposes strategies for overcoming current challenges.
